The Delta State Commissioner for works, Chief James Augoye, yesterday disclosed that Okpanam storm water drainage project in Asaba, which will channel flood water to “Iyi-Uku River” in Okotomi Quarters will be ready for inauguration within the next three months.
The commissioner made this statement while inspecting the project in Asaba, He stated that the 4.6km drain was a proactive measure taken by the state government to address the flooding from Okpanam to Shoprite area in Asaba, adding that about 2.9km had already been completed.
